If so, look no further! We are looking for a Wellbeing facilitator, and you will play a pivotal role in our new wellbeing team! We aim for people to be able to bring their best selves to work, and in line with the new NHS Wellbeing framework and NHS People plan we would like to constantly and compassionately support our peoples wellbeing throughout their journey at the Royal London and Mile End Hospitals within Barts Health NHS Trust.

This is a new post, which builds on the success of a range of wellbeing initiatives introduced to support staff during the first peak of the Covid 19 pandemic.

The post holder will work with the people to support the delivery of an operational and strategic wellbeing service which results in more effective front line service delivery and practice improvement across the organisation.

The post holder will be responsible for the monitoring, analysis and facilitation of interventions, supporting the wellbeing team leads with administration functions, and provide signposting to managers in respect of wellbeing.

Communication and Working Relationships

Provide the first point of contact for any wellbeing enquiries and concerns

Ensure a visible and accessible presence when supporting teams in a variety of settings

Communicate highly sensitive information to a range of people and builds effective working relationships with key contacts in the designated service lines.

Provide timely, accurate and robust advice and guidance to managers and employees on a range of routine wellbeing and engagement initiatives.

Work collaboratively with wider team and external agencies to ensure a comprehensive wellbeing and engagement plan in accordance with national directives. These provide the basis of reports for Trust committee meetings.

Organise and attends internal and external meetings with strong presentation skills required when delivering training or workshops, empowering others with idea generation

Work in partnership with leads, and managers to develop effective solutions through the effective use of questioning, listening, persuasion and negotiating skills

Access information as required, from internal systems to assist wellbeing interventions

Management and Personal Development

Manage the Wellbeing Champions network – facilitating and coordinating workshops to support their development and sustainability and spread of wellbeing advice across the organisation

Resolve queries regarding health and wellbeing

Advise managers on the interpretation and application of Health and Wellbeing Interventions, Strategies and Procedures

Enable psychological safety, mental wellbeing and physical health across the Trust and model appropriate behaviours and attitudes personally

Strategic Development, Planning and Organising

Co-design, deliver and implement an on-going sustainable programme of wellbeing and engagement initiatives, including training, across the Trust

Contribute to service development with the Trust, specifically areas of work dealing with engagement and wellbeing

The post holder will be required to use planning and organisational skills and will work autonomously in their role at times, but will have the wellbeing team to help support, and develop this role.

Administrative, IT and Systems

Use IT software to create training materials, newsletters and promote courses and initiatives in a presentable and appealing format

Use technology to capture stories from staff and edit these using the necessary software, this can be video, audio or written and would need to comply with GDPR

Be an administrator for the wellbeing team, including: financial support, ordering, and organising board papers / minute taking.

Working with the communications team, keep information relevant and up to date on Trust intranet & team social media pages

Empowered to make decisions in relation to health and wellbeing agendas.

Infection control

To ensure that the environment you work in is clutter free and clean by raising issues of concern with your manager in the interest of staff and patient safety.

Safeguarding adults and children

Employees must be aware of the responsibilities placed on them to maintain the wellbeing and protection of vulnerable children and adults. If employees have reason for concern that a staff member or patient is ‘at risk’ they should escalate this to an appropriate person i.e. line manager, safeguarding children’s lead, matron, ward sister/change nurse, site manager, consultants

General responsibilities

  • To have responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of self and others and to comply at all times with the requirements of health and safety regulations
  • To ensure confidentiality at all times, only releasing confidential information obtained during the course of employment to those acting in an official capacity in accordance with Trust policies
  • To report immediately any incidents and complete an incident monitoring form
  • To comply with the Trusts policies including equal opportunities
  • To comply with the requirements of the Data protection Act 1994
  • To carry out such duties as may be required by the professional/line manager consistent with the responsibilities of the grade
  • To attend any mandatory training and induction courses as designated by the Trust
