We are recruiting on behalf of a major UK operator for a Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join their Plymouth-based on-site workshop. This is a technically rewarding role where your expertise directly supports a safety-critical fleet that serves homes and businesses across the UK all year round.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Vehicle Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in fleet reliability and safety. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out routine servicing, inspections, and repairs on heavy vehicles and trailers
  • Diagnosing faults using strong technical knowledge and a safety-first approach
  • Maintaining workshop tools and equipment to a high professional standard
  • Supporting fleet compliance and safety through quality workmanship
  • Working a rotating shift pattern (early and late), with overtime and on-call opportunities
  • Participating in specialist training programmes to grow your skills and qualifications

What We’re Looking For

You will ideally bring:

  • Qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Good knowledge of vehicle systems, trailers, and workshop practices
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
  • A safety-conscious, methodical approach to work
  • Clear communication and good organisational skills

Desirable (but not essential):

  • HGV Category C licence
  • ADR certification
    Full training will be provided where required
