Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with a prestigious and well-known business in Sheffield as they look to recruit a transactional finance manager to manage a team of 3 in finance.

The main purpose of the role is to manage the transactional finance team and ensure excellent customer service for all internal and external customers as well as suppliers. The department consists of accounts receivable, accounts payable and treasury so they are ideally looking for a candidate who has experience of managing these functions. You will report straight into the Head of Finance and will also be involved in a number of exciting projects which includes improving current systems and processes to increase department efficiencies.

Duties will include:

*Responsibility for sales, purchase ledger (including expenses, credit cards and landladies), bank reconciliation and control accounts
*Responsibility for short-term cash management
*Maintain excellence in financial control across your function
*Create and maintain procedures for the transactional department
*Manage the purchase order system including review of open orders and regular communication with managers to ensure that all invoices are paid on time
*Train managers in the purchasing and sales processes and ensure that adequate processes are in place to efficiently capture information
*Manage the transactional team, setting appropriate goals for each team member to improve their area and develop them
*Review cash handling throughout the business against the cash handling policy and make recommendations on improvements
*Compile month end folder electronically and manually including KPI monitoring for each area
*Support production of budgets with contract management knowledge
*Work with the Management Accountant to produce forecasts for sales income and purchases to underpin the group cash flow forecast
*Taking a proactive role in the contract renewal process
*Ensure compliance with relevant legislation is adhered to at all times

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

* 5+ years’ experience of sales, purchase ledger and bank reconciliations
* Good Excel and data manipulation knowledge
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
* Excellent organizing and leadership skills
* Technical awareness
* Analytical mind and familiarity with data analysis principles
* Ability to review current processes and to make recommendations for improvement
* A proactive and supportive attitude
