Who are CareTech?
Our services support people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health illness and neurological conditions up and down the UK. We want people to live as independently as possible and to continue to offer that outstanding level of support we need people like you to join us and help to improve the lives of our service users. We are looking for a part time Support Worker to join our friendly Altrincham based team, WA14 1NL. The individuals we support have mental health issues and/or learning disabilities and may display sometimes challenging behaviour.  The service is easily accessible via all transport links but please check you are able to commute to the area as this is a Waking Night shift 9pm to 9am Friday & Saturday.

Of course we look for people who have experience in care and support work, but we also know that having experience does not always guarantee a great support worker. If you have experience in a different sector of care, supported or cared for a relative or friend or are looking for a career change but bring a genuine caring approach to our services then we would like to meet you. Support work involves some flexibility and you may be required to work bank holidays and weekends. We will try our best to work around you if we can.

What will you be doing?

• Helping to implement daily support plans including helping with the preparation of meals, cleaning, laundry duties and accompanying individuals to leisure activities and social events in the community
• Communicating with our services users, their families and any other related support groups/organisations
• Maintaining accurate notes and records and may be assisting with administering with medication
• Working as part of a team, ensuring we always supply the highest level of care

Sounds great, what do we need from you?

• An NVQ in Health & Social Care or be willing to work towards one
• Experience in supporting adults with mental health issues is desirable but not essential
• The ability to keep calm under pressure and keep those around you calm too
• The confidence to work on your own and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills and the passion to support vulnerable adults
• The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding

COVID – This role and the service users we support requires you to confirm you have been/will be double vaccinated against Covid 19 by the 1st April 2022. We are required to ask for evidence of this.

Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure prior to commencement of employment, the disclosure expense will be met by the employer.
