Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in the team you will be involved in the mechanical design and development of new products and systems through to manufacture.
This will include electromechanical components, precision rotating parts and electronic packaging but could extend to any aspect of design.
You will lead technical design projects, offer support and mentor more junior engineers.
The company’s systems include high reliability and safety critical motors, motor controllers and drive systems and all associated packaging and enclosures.
Your Background

A good degree or higher in a relevant subject e.

mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or similar Experience of mechanical design of high reliability mechanical or electromechanical components / products perhaps gained within automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, medical, Defence, industrial pumps, valves or other relevant markets Excellent problemsolving skills using first principles with the ability to take products from concept to production including feasibility, component evaluation, DFM and cost down activities Component design skills with knowledge of aluminium casting, complex potting, steel stamping, sealing and injection moulding Use of highend 3D solid modelling CAD tools e.

Solidworks, Catia, Inventor, Creo, NX etc Knowledge of FEA and CAE tools along with the ability to perform hand calculations Knowledge of DFM, GD&T and also DFMEA in accordance with BS8888 standards Understanding of heat management / thermal analysis, EMC, vibration or electronic sealing would be ideal Excellent communication skills written and verbalThe company offers flexible working, relocation support, 15% bonus, pension, private health and excellent training and development opportunities.
