Job Description

Job purpose
At Sage, Content Designers play a critical role in delivering compelling digital content for defined target audiences.
They are creatives and technical authors supporting digital experiences, providing help and product guidance, and API documentation for our Sage development partners.
They engage across the Experience Design (XD) community, product management, product marketing, engineering, and customer support and learning teams.

Content Designers combine language and authoring best practices with analysis and tools expertise. They:
Possess a combination of UX writing and technical writing skills, and an understanding of user-centered design.
Guide the user to success, helping to design solutions that are easy to learn, and efficient to use, meeting the exact needs of the user with simplicity and elegance.
Understand globalization and localization, crafting engaging and culturally-relevant copy that shapes the local experiences of our mobile, web, and desktop solutions.
Are inspired by user engagement and immersed in user context and the problem domain.
Deliver just the right amount of intelligent content in context-providing users with the information they need when they need it, on the platform and device of their choosing.
Have a broad range of experience with authoring tools for digital content experiences, and advanced knowledge of reuse and single-sourcing strategies.

A Senior Content Designer is a high-level performer with strong working relationships and the ability to lead projects. They:
Lead content for one or more products, adapting best practice and devising novel solutions for the team.
Self-sufficiently solve major content challenges, and support others, coaching and mentoring in best practice.

Key Responsibilities

Content Design (UX and technical writing)
Craft micro-copy and compelling user-centered content for Sage solutions. Provide accessible assistance in-app and online, guiding first-time and expert users to success. Define the content strategy, information model, and delivery channels and outputs.

Content Design Skills
Strong in all the following and supports others.
Coaches and mentors in multi-disciplinary content design standards, processes, industry best practice, and trends (video production, narrative and conversation design, infographics and illustration, technical writing and editing, UX writing, and content strategy).
Global authoring, and best practices for localization.
Tools and techniques for technical authoring, content management, re-use, and single-sourcing for omnichannel delivery in an agile development environment.
Creating informed guidance, drawing on the knowledge of subject matter experts, and feedback from customers, partners, and support and learning peers.
Research and understanding of the subject matter and target audience to communicate accurate and clear guidance in context.
Content modeling and designing information architecture, navigation, and linking strategies.
Developing templates, process, and style guidelines.
Search strategies and optimization.
Measuring content effectiveness and iterating based on data.
Auditing and content migration.
