Senior Marine & Energy Liability Claims Adjuster

Salary – ££ Highly competitive

Locations : City & WFH flexibility

The Role:

* to investigate, quantify, negotiate and settle claims across the Marine portfolios.

* the focus of the role will be biased towards marine liabilities but there will be opportunities to adjust hull,yacht,P&I and cargo claims.

* adjusting on a lead and follow basis with an authority of £1.5M syndicate share.

* working in close collaboration with the underwriting team.

* demonstrate the ability to assess risks using sound judgement, and in accordance with all approved procedures, and within claims authority limits.

* ensure that all claims are dealt with efficiently and fairly, in line with insurance cover, and all associated compliance rules and regulations.

* maintain an effective reserving policy

* refer appropriately for advice on coverage and policy response from internal stakeholders and/or external providers.

* to work with other Market participants and third party providers to ensure an efficient resolution to valid claims.

Candidate profile:

* Solid claims knowledge and experience in marine classes and in particular marine liabilities.

* Knowledge and experience in the Lloyd’s market

* Knowledge and experience in dealing with DXC/Xchanging business solution for Lloyd’s managing agents

* Proven sound judgement and decision making capability, especially with complex issues or problems

* Demonstrate client intimacy through the effective delivery of a claims service that demonstrates understanding of the client and builds on long term strategic relationships

* Highly effective communications and negotiation skills

* Ability to build strong relationships with key brokers, adjusters, legal experts, market peers, and clients
