Your new role

An exciting opportunity as become available for a Senior Administrator to join the Regional Investment Programme (RIP) within the Major Projects (MP) directorate of National Highways.

To operate a range of administrative processes, providing flexible business support, to

contribute to the delivery of business activities and objectives to time, quality and within

What you’ll be leading on

  1. Operate many administrative processes, ensuring that these are delivered accurately, on time and in line with defined procedures and standards.
  2. Produce accurate and timely KPI reports for inclusion in higher level management reporting, to support effective management decision making.
  3. Produce reports, presentations and other documents, collating and analysing relevant information and statistics from identified sources, to support others in the delivery of their business objectives.
  4. Answer standard and non-standard enquiries and act as a point of contact internally and externally, providing information to stakeholders to support service delivery, customer service, and management decision making and escalating issues for resolution as necessary.
  5. Enter and maintain information on systems and files to ensure that information is up to date, in the right place and easily accessible.
  6. Manage smaller pieces of work to completion, either standalone or as part of larger projects, to support achievement of business objectives.
  7. Coach, guide and provide technical advice to junior team members, to support them in their work and in their professional development.

To be successful you’ll need

  • Experience in a project environment (non-industry specific) is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in ensuring good quality, customer focused service delivery.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software including, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong time management and organisations skills. An ability to work under one’s own initiative, prioritising tasks to meet competing deadlines.
  • To demonstrate previous experience in liaising with both internal and external stakeholders
