A local authority based in Cheshire is giving you the opportunity to join their Children with Disabilities Team!

This local authority is offering an ongoing contract but they also provide the opportunity to become permanent for those looking for stability. This ongoing contract gives you the stability and time to be fully involved in the process of achieving the best outcomes for children leading to more job satisfaction for you.

The local authority is rated GOOD by OFSTED, they are working towards outstanding and senior management are continuously supporting staff to get there. The local authority is operating using systemic practice and provide a 4-day introduction to systemic practice held in-house for both agency and permanent staff. They also have a brand new building with newly fitted offices, a systemic hub for consultations and support for family members, and an office admin team on hand to support, giving you an opportunity for more hands-on support for service users.

Caseloads are currently between 18-20, the team is handling a variety of cases with around 40% being low-level management who only need to be visited every 3 months and have a meeting held every 6 months. Another theme throughout caseloads is autism in 16-17 year olds but you will have some cases of children with physical disabilities too. This role will give you an excellent chance to gain experience with Deprivation of Liberties and you’ll also get to create and maintain supportive and collaborative relationships with parents/families as some cases will be held for a few years.

The ideal candidate will be:
* A Qualified Social Worker with up-to-date Social Work England registration
* A forward-thinking and experienced qualified social worker, preferably with some experience of working in child protection
