Pupil Support Assistant
Blackhall Primary School

Salary: £19,687 – £19,969 (pro rata for part-time and sessional 39 weeks)

Hours: 25 per week, 0.62 FTE

Fixed term until 01/07/2022

Blackhall Primary School is a busy and vibrant school with a welcoming and inclusive ethos. 

We are looking for a motivated individuals to join our team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively as a member of the school team assisting in meeting the educational, care and welfare needs of all pupils, ensuring those with additional support needs can effectively access the curriculum and be supported on a one to one basis when appropriate.

The post holder will be required to support pupils in the classroom and throughout the school learning environment through organised activities, providing support, assistance and encouragement to help each individual child achieve the best learning outcomes possible.

Experience of working as a Pupil Support Assistant would be desirable. Other knowledge and skills required include a good standard of Maths and English to SQA standard grade level or equivalent, good communication skills and planning and organisational skills.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
