Our renowned client is a much-loved Scottish brand based in the West of Edinburgh. They are recruiting for a Procurement Assistant to play an integral role in the team.  The organisation has big selling points as they offer a hybrid working model and excellent benefits.

 

This is a 6-month fixed term contract that would suit someone looking to pursue a long-term career in procurement. It’s a great opportunity to join an established and successful procurement function with a well-known brand, reporting to the Head of Procurement. You will receive support and guidance, paving the way for you to continue your career in procurement either within this organisation if there is an opportunity, or elsewhere having gained some highly desirable experience.

Job

 

The role of Procurement Assistant has the following responsibilities:

 

  • The management of the supplier records, from supplier set up, to purchase order and product management
  • Develop effective procurement policies and procedures
  • Provide advice to internal stakeholders on procurement processes
  • Support the Procurement Department in tender and contract management requirements
  • Management of the Supplier Onboarding process for Dynamics 365
  • Ensure accurate billing information is held
  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness in our supplier onboarding processes
  • Maintain accuracy of records and oversight of suppliers by specialism
  • Develop Purchase Order Management to users to ensure Purchase Orders are complete
  • Design and Implement Payment Control mechanisms to aid Purchase Ledger to pro-actively identify any system issues with supplier records which may disrupt supplier payments
  • Provide regions with bespoke regular supplier reports
  • Liaison with stakeholders and customers
  • Develop end-user training materials; deliver end user training; and support end-users after go-live
  • First point of contact for procurement system issues and providing support and guidance to the business for queries and fault solutions
  • Collaborate with Finance and the operations teams on invoicing, including purchase order and staff guidance

You

As Procurement Assistant you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:

  • Ideally studying towards CIPS qualification
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills; with the ability to scenario plan, draw conclusions and make recommendations
  • Methodical, rigorous approach with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills and confidence in dealing with issues
  • Proficient in a range of IT systems, including Excel and ideally MS Dynamics 365
