Reed are currently recruiting temporary nursery assistants in Leicester, LE1, to Provide a happy, safe, secure and stimulating environment for children aged 0-4. The Nursery is a small family style nursery providing care for up to 21 children per day. Located on the main University campus, the nursery benefits from easy access to all of the Universities facilities including shops, cafés and a state-of-the-art sports centre.

At present I can confirm the below:

Location: Leicester, LE1

Contract duration: Permanent

Hours per week: 20-35 per week. The nursery is open from 07:45 – 18:15 so shift times are flexible within these hours

Pay Rate: £9.50 per hour PAYE

The Job:

To provide a stimulating and effective curriculum which will enhance children’s emotional, social, physical and intellectual development. To provide high quality care that meets the professional inspection standards.

Duties include:

  • Provide a happy, safe, secure and stimulating environment in which the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and psychological development of the babies is taken into account.
  • To encourage the children to develop and maintain their own individuality and independence within supportive group care.
  • Observe, monitor and maintain written records to ensure children’s developmental progress.
  • Provide appropriate resources, activities and play experiences for all areas of learning and development.
  • Ensure the nursery is safe, clean and tidy at all times. This includes setting up the nursery ready for the children to arrive.
  • Assisting with meal times, feeding and changing nappies
  • Take reasonable care of self and others and comply with Health and Safety policy at all times.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Level 2 or level 3 nursery nurse
  • An interest & experience in working with 0-4 year old children
  • IT skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Have a deep and genuine interest in the developmental needs of children
