Overview
Happy Days Nursery Exeter is seeking a Business Administrator to join their team on a part time (30hrs per week – Monday to Friday) capacity.
As As Business Administrator you will offer front line support to our nursery management team, supporting with all administration and invoicing tasks, as well as customer relationships and queries.
A little bit about the role…
- Working Monday to Friday, you will report to the Nursery Manager
- Providing office and nursery support to ensure all resources/ documents are prepared in advance
- Support the Nursery Manager to ensure occupancy levels meet minimum budget requirements
- Support the manager to achieve nursery gross profit and operational budget targets
- To control nursery expenditure in line with budgets and nursery management accounts, updating spreadsheets to track expenses To manage nursery banking
- To assist manager with payroll, ensuring timesheets are accurately inputted
- Compliance with all statutory requirements and Happy Days policies and procedures
- Complaints to be kept to a minimum
- Increased year-on-year enquiry per quarter
- Delivery against company deadlines
- Nursery debt level to be within budget
- Completion of all Office paperwork as per support centre and Local Authority timelines
- Good time management, ability to multi-task and to work accurately and effectively under pressure
- Attend and actively participate in monthly staff meetings and attend and participate in nursery events
What skills & experience do you need…
- Business management qualification or be willing to work towards one
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft IT programs and their usage including Excel, Word
- Previous experience of working with Local Authority and their systems such as Grant Funding Portal would be an advantage
- Demonstrable clerical administrative experience within a busy environment
- Good level of commercial awareness
- Excellent organisational skills; able to plan resources and own/others work
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to adapt style to meet the needs of different recipients and manage difficult conversations
- Proven experience of establishing good relationships with parents. Able to anticipate the needs of parents, build trust and provide advice /support
- Has a continuous learning ethos and dedication to maintaining and improving high standards
- Experience of collating and analysing related data to inform decisions
- Demonstrates a strong initiative, ability to think on their feet and make timely informed decisions
- Excellent written skills with ability to complete required paperwork to required standards
