Built on the foundation that health food should never be boring, Pip & Nut is a rapidly growing award-winning nut butter brand with big ambitions; in just six years we’ve scaled to over 6000 stores nationwide with listings in high end stores like Wholefoods & Selfridges as well as Tesco’s, Sainsbury’s, ASDA & Morrisons and are the fastest growing nut butter brand in the UK. With this exciting growth we make sure it’s not to the detriment of people or planet and profit and as a result we’re proud to say we’re a certified B-corporation.

We firmly believe that things should be kept just as nature intended so there’s nothing nasty hidden inside our nut butters or snacks, just amazing nuts and a few other natural ingredients. Aside from the fact that our products stack up nutritionally, we’ve also built a serious amount of momentum & love behind our brand, with fans ranging from International athletes to top celebrities and everyone in between.

The Role

Pip & Nut is looking for an intern to join the marketing team and help us deliver our exciting brand plans in 2022.

As Marketing Intern, your job will be to support the brand & comms team across a range of functions, such as social media, email and PR. You will report into the Senior Brand Manager, but the team is small so you will get the opportunity to learn from everyone.

In 2022 we have a lot of ambitious marketing plans, to help us achieve our goal of becoming the leading sustainable natural nut butter brand.

This Internship will be a fantastic introduction to marketing in a fast-growing food brand.

Initially, this is a six-month contract. However, there is the potential for this to extend into a permanent Marketing Executive role in the future.

In a nutshell, you are responsible for:

  • Social media content creation & schedule management
  • Email content creation
  • Press office support
  • Influencer & buyer engagement
  • Website updates and e-commerce customer experience
  • Reporting & trend analysis
  • Occasional team admin & general support

  • Inputting into design briefs for our Creative Manager
  • Supporting on photo shoots / liaising with photographers
  • Identifying collaboration opportunities and managing competitions
  • Nurturing our ‘super fans’ and recommending surprise & delight tactics
  • Working closely with our Digital Marketing Apprentice to ensure all social interactions are responded to in an appropriate manner

Email

  • Working with the Senior Brand Manager to create monthly plans for brand newsletters (usual frequency is one per week)
  • Drafting the weekly newsletters, writing the copy, and sourcing the imagery (briefing the Content Manager if required)
  • Helping come up with tactics to grow the email list (such as multi-brand competitions) and execute the plans
  • Keeping automated email flows (for example post purchase or lapsed customer emails) up to date and on-brand

  • Being the day-to-day contact for our external press office team
  • Managing PR sample requests and sending these out from our warehouse

Reporting & trend analysis

  • Keeping a beady eye on the data and insights that you are seeing on a daily basis (e.g. Instagram engagement) and sharing anything useful with the team
  • Completing the relevant sections of the monthly marketing dashboard at the end of every month and analysing what this means. For example, you will be tracking social growth and engagement as well as press coverage.
  • Completing reporting slides for the quarterly trading reviews, which may require more detail on a particular campaign moment or trend that has been spotted

Occasional team admin & general support

  • We are a small team which means that every now and then your help might be needed outside of your core responsibilities, particularly if someone is off ill or on holiday.
  • This could include anything from helping the Shopper Marketing Manager to deliver a brand day, helping with a sampling campaign, covering the customer service inbox or even just helping unload a delivery of nut butter at the office (many paws make light work!)

  • Organisational skills -you will have to juggle a range of different tasks at the same time
  • Motivated – sometimes you may need to crack on with a piece of work by yourself
  • A team player – we are a small team, and we want someone to get stuck in, whether that’s volunteering to lead the marketing section of the weekly team update or participating in social activities with the whole company.

A degree or equivalent qualification such as an apprenticeship, or relevant work experience is desired.

Like our brand, as a team we don’t take ourselves too seriously and want to make sure that we’re having fun and inject a bit of playfulness into our day to day. As a B-corporation we also want to ensure that every person in our team has a clear understanding of our mission and what we are looking to achieve. 1. Learning & Development– We’re an ambitious bunch and have a hunger to learn something new everyday, whether it’s small or big. That’s why we invest behind each team member with resource to support a personal development plan each year. Whether that’s learning soft or hard skills we want every person in our team to pursue areas that they wish to grow more within

3. Free breakfast, a no desk lunch policy and of course unlimited nut butter – building positive relationships with food is at the core of what we do as a brand so we make sure as team we live this value by making sure that we stop to eat well throughout the day. All food we buy for the office is also bought from businesses that avoid the use of palm oil as we like to support brands who also believe this is an ingredient worth avoiding

Giving back to our community and planet – as a brand we want to give back to our community which is why on top of your 25 days holiday we also give 3 additional days leave for you to volunteer with a charity , one day is dedicated to our company charity of the year and the other two days can be spent with a charity of your choice
