Overview

Learning Mentor required to work on a 1-2-1 basis with Key Stage 4  children that no longer attend mainstream school. As a learning mentor you will need to be experienced in dealing with challenging behaviours, and breaking down barriers to education. A positive approach is essential as you will be working with children who have faced challenges both academically and socially. You will be working with students who may be verbally abusive, so an abundance of resilience is certainly required.

This school caters for children with SEMH needs, and is looking for a learning mentor who has experience working in a similar setting. There is an abundance of support available from experienced staff, who are friendly and welcoming. You will primarily be supporting on a 1-2-1 basis, but may be asked to support the whole class when necessary.
Job Role:

  • Supporting students within an AP setting
  • Providing additional support for Teaching staff
  • Providing 1-2-1 and small group intervention support
  • Breaking down barriers to education, and helping learners to reengage with lessons
