Overview

The post holder will be responsible for the development and leadership of Advanced Clinical Roles across the organisation.

They will support the Director of Nursing, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Quality as well as the Medical Director in developing, leading and implementing a multi-professional, organisational level advanced practice strategy and provide expert advice, consultancy, education and clinical expertise. The post holder will engage and influence regional and national priorities ensuring appropriate frameworks for guidance, associate governance arrangements (including clinical), clinical & and management supervision, competency assessment and continuing education/ are in place for both the development of trainee and qualified advanced roles across the organisation including Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Non-medical Prescribing and other extended roles.

The post holder will support the development and implementation of innovative and contemporary practice by ensuring that advanced practice support and governance systems are in place.

You will be visible, proactive and compassionate clinical leader with a proven track record of working in advanced practice and leadership with extensive knowledge of contemporary advanced roles including drivers, policy and practice across the Trust, regionally and nationally. You will be visionary and excited about the future opportunities for all Advancing roles. On behalf of the Director of Nursing AHPs & Quality you will take lead responsibility for the development of a Trust advanced practice strategy that reflects local, regional and national priorities, supported by the Director of Nursing. You will develop the long-term strategy to support role out.

Acting as a role model and clinical resource, you will ensure the sustained delivery of high standards of Advancing roles in services and have service user and carer Involvement at the heart of everything you do. You will provide senior professional leadership to this workforce, enabling the support and delivery of key priority work areas through diverse clinical leadership. This will include all matters regarding trainee and qualified roles through education and research, representing the Trust on system wide forums and having a full understanding of the major relevant local and national strategic issues.
