WHAT YOU’LL DOThis role is a member of the Global Travel Team.
The global travel function sets the vision and overall strategic direction of the global travel program, delivers the latest thinking in the areas of indirect sourcing where BCG has a substantial spend
air, hotel, rail and car rental associated with internal and client travel, service operations & travel technology while leading the change required to minimize travel cost and its associated infrastructure.
Our small but diverse team is highly strategic, collaborative, and solutionsoriented.
The Travel Technology Coordinator will focus on support and maintenance of new and existing technologies such as travel mobile applications, online booking tools and the Global Travel Portal.
S/he will also be responsible for liaising with the travel agency and technology vendor point of contact as well as servicing any internal travel technology enquiries/support for our BCG travellers.
The Travel Technology coordinator will also be assisting with other projects and requests as they arise such as/and not limited to GDS consolidation, Profile Management tools, Mobile messaging or Business Travel intelligence tools.
The specific responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to
Acting as a customer service point of contact and assisting with any individual or travel booker enquiries
Acting as Navigational support for the online booking tool or the global travel portalFollowing up on cases and liaising between the vendor and the traveler or the travel team to resolve any technical issues in accordance with the applicable service level agreementActing as an expert for translating requirements into functional and design specificationsFacilitate the communication between business as well as solution developersAct as a reference point for maintenance and updates of online booking tools, Global Travel Portal and mobile booking applications Involved in deployment of new tools and tool functionalities across all markets and provide consultative and insightful advice in the evaluation phase of new projects.

We expect that the individual will possess both the “technical” qualifications for the role as well as other “intangible” attributes.
The technical qualifications include
Technical background – IT/Engineering/Computer Science Helpdesk / customer support experience, navigating, creating and updating knowledge base articles.
Basic understanding of supporting or related platforms Windows Server OS, SQL Server, Active Directory Knowledge of Excel—ability to design, enhance, and maintain spreadsheets.
Knowledge of formulas and pivot tables.
VBA would be a plus.
Strong knowledge of MS Office.
Excellent communication skills and capability to present the findings into understandable documents.
Service minded with high focus on support / helping users Sound analytical skills, ability to navigate details and a willingness to look at data in different ways Strong accuracy and attention to detail Demonstrated interest in new technology Record of gearing up quickly with steep learning curve Experience from the Travel Industry, along with GDS knowledge would be a strong merit.
Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript would be a strong merit.
Experience with SQL design and reporting functions would be a plus.
Experience of working with travel online booking tool interface would be a plus Experience from supporting small size technology projects Experience with Photoshop would be a plus Second language is an advantageYOU’LL WORK WITHOur business management and operations team members work to ensure that BCG is running smoothly, efficiently, and productively.
