Overview

We are urgently seeking an experienced and skilled Emergency Planning Officer to ensure compliance under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 by leading on all aspects of Emergency Planning, Business Continuity and general Civil Contingencies and resilience functions for one of our local government clients based in Skelmersdale.

The Emergency Planning Officer will regularly review the current Emergency Plans and Business Continuity Plans; create new plans/guidance based on local/national risk assessments & national guidance and design and assist in the delivery of a programme for the training of staff & members.

They will design & assist in the delivery of a programme for the regular testing and exercising of the Emergency Plans, Business Continuity Plans and facilities.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • A recognised qualification in Emergency Planning and/or Business Continuity (equivalent knowledge gained through experience may suffice)
  • Preferably a Member of a professional Emergency Planning or Business Continuity Organisation
  • Experience in an Emergency Planning or Business Continuity role.
  • Methodical and well organised, with a commitment to providing a quality service and attention to detail
  • Full clean driving licence
