Divisional Commercial DirectorJob PurposeThe role is for a Divisional Commercial Manager to lead all commercial aspects of a ISG Science and Health cluster that delivers projects of £50m – £300m in value.
The candidate will deliver a quality service and product to our clients and leadership to a high performing team of ISG commercial managers and associated roles.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of working for a major main contractor in the science and health market and hold associated industry relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organise and direct the daytoday commercial operations on all projects within the Cluster, ensuring that the correct level of skills and experience are matched to the type and value of project.
Assist where appropriate in deciding on projectbyproject commercial strategies and monitor their implementation and progress.
Provide good sound considered, technical, commercial and contractual advice to projects where appropriate Pre Contract & Post Contract.
Assist with problem solving as and when considered necessary.
With hands on assistance as appropriate.
Prepare and /or coordinate financial reports, analyse and interpret results and recommend corrective and/or other actions as appropriate.
Ensure that all projects have had a project briefing on conditions accepted during contract negotiation.
Clear understanding of terms.
Collaborate and assist the preconstruction/procurement teams with commercial and contractual advice and strategies, and liaising with the Legal dept as appropriate.
Manage, evaluate, develop and recruit the commercial team beneath them.
Participate in training programmes and continued professional development.
Work with his/her teams to correct any individual’s deficiencies, recommending and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
Actively manage talent and ensure succession planning of key team members.
Feedback on outturn costs on projects back into Pre Construction to ensure correct lessons learned are communicated back and taken into account on future tenders.
Advise on, manage and engage appropriate resource to investigate, resolve and respond to any Contractual Disputes that arise on projects under his/her controlEnsure accurate, quality and timely internal and external project financial reporting including procurement strategies, cost reporting, change control processes, contract tracking logs and risk registers.
Manage to deadline the monthly divisional project reporting process, ensuring the Divisional Commercial Director and Board has all information required.
To provide high quality management information to the Divisional Commercial Director and Board DirectorsExperience & SkillsExperience of delivering large scale or multiple medium value projects.
Experience in all forms of contract but NEC in particular.
Relationships with clients/consultants and suppliers which will raise the profile of the business and lead to new opportunities.
Evidence of strong interpersonal and people management skills are essential.
Ability to multi task.
