Home Scotland is a subsidiary of Home Group, one of the largest providers of affordable housing and supported services for people in the UK. Home Group has a long and proud heritage of operating Scotland, leading the field and setting the standard that others follow.

However, we’re determined to continue to innovate, improve and have a greater impact on the communities we serve.

We now seek to appoint a new Director for Scotland who will play a critical role in ensuring that Home Scotland are best in class by instilling rigour and business improvement across all our activities. The world we work in is changing and our new Director will have the opportunity to contribute to our growth and impact on the range of services we currently deliver to our customers across over 5,000 properties we currently own and manage. Our services cover development, social housing, and could grow to include care.

The Role

¡ Provide strong, clear and creative leadership to a team of c40 colleagues, our new Director must be able to combine both operational and strategic skills and be equally comfortable in either role. They will be responsible for P&L and for driving performance with a keen eye for detail.

¡ Responsible for governance across all business units and lead our customer, community and stakeholder engagement. This includes working with and influencing the Scottish Housing Regulator, Scottish Government, local authorities and other key partners and stakeholders, by building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships.

¡ Work closely with our Home Scotland Board and Home Group colleagues to develop and deliver our strategic plans in Scotland. 

¡ Work collaboratively to support and empower colleagues and customers, and to develop effective and creative partnerships at local and national level, to deliver our ambitious targets

The Person

¡ While sector experience is advantageous, we are keen to consider candidates with experience of working in a large, complex, organisation operating within a regulated environment.

¡ Substantial experience of leading and managing service delivery at a strategic level, with teams achieving high quality outcomes, compliance and innovation and strong relationships with customers.

¡ Knowledge and experience of social housing and the delivery of housing (including for sale, rented, mid-market rent, and factoring) within a Scottish and/or UK context would be beneficial but the key is experience of working cross borders and the ability to bring sharp insight to where we need to operate in Scotland balanced with the ability to recognise where group skills and experience are best utilised.
