Deep Sea Operations Clerk – Essex – VR/21916
Our client, a global logistics service provider, is looking for a Deep Sea Operations Clerk to join their team based in Essex.
Duties of the Import / Export Operator include:
Manage import and export processes from start to finishLiaise with UK warehouses/clearing agentsLiaise with overseas partners, agents, customers, hauliersTrack shipments and communicate progress to clientsSend NOA and invoices to UK importers prior to shipments arrivingArrange to release/deliver cargoReceiving pre-alerts from overseas agentsCreating files both manually and on the computer systemAdvising customers of arrival of cargo into the UKPlanning loads and sending load lists to agentsChecking manifests once receivedReceiving and checking relevant import documentation and passing on to shipping linesCustoms clearancePlanning and arranging deliveriesEnsure cost estimates are entered on all jobs within the correct accounting monthCheck purchase invoices are correct on receipt. Pass all correct invoices for payment and dealing with any queriesClose files after checking everything has been charged / costed and maximum profitability is achieved
Experience required from the Deep Sea Import / Export Clerk:
Experience in handling shipments from start to finish, including quotationsExcellent customer service experienceConfident communication skillsGood organisational skillsGood attention to detailCan work to deadlines and handle pressureQuick thinker / problem solvingSelf-motivated and enthusiastic characterAbility to work with and support a teamComputer literate
In return, the successful Deep Sea import / Export Clerk will receive a salary according to experience.
