Job Description Summary

The Large Corporate Credit (“LCC”) team have an exciting opening for a Credit Officer within the Business Services team! We look after high profile and sophisticated clients generating a minimum of £100m in turnover and are a part of the wider Corporates Credit area, Chief Credit Office, Risk Division.

LCC provides independent and dynamic credit assessment and monitoring in support of colleagues across Corporate & Institutional Coverage and Product Partners. If successful, you’ll join the Business Services and Professionals credit team, responsible for the Credit Risk Management of a number of high profile clients. You’ll also engage frequently with senior stakeholders, including LBCM and CCO ExCo members and will be required to deputise for more senior colleagues on occasion. You’ll also get the opportunity to meet customers, always one of the best parts of the job for me!

What you can expect to do…

Supports the Senior Credit Officer managing a bespoke portfolio including the analysis of complex bank customers.

Proactive in taking the lead on more sophisticated transactions, constructively engaging with 1st and 2nd Line stakeholders (and clients where appropriate) to reshape proposals to meet risk appetite.

Identifies horizon risks and actively owns the credit risks which arise and seeks to improve mitigations or de-risk.

Supports the continued development of yourself and colleagues within Corporate Credit, including Line Management.

Utilises their insight to proactively contribute in shaping counterparty / product appetite / strategies and articulates these in a confident manner to all stakeholders.

Maintains a wide network of contacts and has an established network of stakeholders within Corporate Credit.

Proactively uses internal and external data / information sources to generate meaningful insight and improve decision making.

The skills we’re looking for…

Credit risk management experience and an ability to quickly learn and adapt to new challenges. You’ll also have well-developed communication and influencing skills and are happy to challenge the status quo whilst being comfortable making and explaining your decisions. Be able to balance conflicting demands with delivering to tight timescales.

Be an experienced credit professional and demonstrates sophisticated financial and non-financial (including documentation / legal risks) analysis skills, providing guidance to more junior colleagues.
