Overview
A leading global engineering services provider is seeking to expand their Corporate Development team with a Corporate Development Associate hire.
This role will be based in Central London and will be supporting the Head of Corporate Development and the Corporate Finance manager in executing smaller transactions: acquisitions, investments and disposals.
This role could potentially lead to be a successor for the Corporate Finance Manager in the future.
The salary for this position is £65,000-£70,000 per annum and offers range of competitive benefits but you must be a fully qualified Big 4 or Top 10 practice trained qualified Accountant with transaction experience to be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Head of Corporate Development and Corporate Finance Manager in preparing businesses for exit: ideally project managing the preparation process, and then managing transactions with oversight from senior members of the team
- Work as part of the opco/Corp Dev team in developing investment thesis aligned with strategy, and also challenging these
- Lead acquisition and partnership investment processes once the decision has been made to engage
- Support opco’s with the post-acquisition integration process
- Work with OpCos in development of their M&A pipeline with a structured review and development of opportunities
- Undertake independent market/sector research to identify potential acquisition targets both in the UK and internationally
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Fully Qualified accountant (ACA) from Big 4 or top 10 practice or investment banking
- 3 years plus transaction experience with detailed experience managing workstreams, modelling, supporting/leading negotiations
- Broad industrial understanding is essential
- Must have excellent communication skills at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders at many levels in and outside the organization
- Ability to work on own initiative, be highly organised and have high attention to detail
- Need to be able to work under pressure and be team player
- Relevant Renewables and/or Oil & Gas sector experience a plus
This is a great position for a qualified Accountant with extensive accounting knowledge who has worked within the corporate finance department of a Big 4 or Top 10 practice or an investment bank.
