QG Media is a provider of cutting-edge b2b events within the cyber security and IIoT sectors. We host annual events across 5 continents and have a client base that includes some of the world’s most recognisable brands (Google, Microsoft, Barclays, Oracle, McAfee, Amazon, Shell).

We are now looking for an experienced conference producer to come and join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Market Research & Analysis. Building a Steering Committee and conducting in-depth phone-based research of key subject areas and topics within a specific region or industry. Identifying the target audience and finding out what they want and need to know. Creating a comprehensive conference briefing document and accurately briefing other staff after conducting research.
  • Copywriting. Writing promotional copy in the form of a conference programme, in the language of your target audience. Creating a relevant, thought provoking and high-quality program attractive to an audience of C-level executives. Ensuring that all sales-driven materials such as website, emails and LinkedIn posts will maximise delegate interest and attendance.
  • Speaker Acquisition. Identifying high-level, influential industry thought leaders and inviting them to speak at the conference. Recruiting speakers is done through various methods of communication including cold calling.
  • Project Management. Working with a cross-functional team from several departments: sales (delegate and sponsorship), marketing and operations to ensure the success of the conference and that it is delivered on time and in budget.
  • Onsite Attendance. Attending conferences to ensure excellent delivery and smooth running on the day. This will include opening your conference. This is an opportunity to represent the company and to network with key players and speakers within the sector, to build relationships and shake hands with the people that helped shape your agenda.

Key requirements:

  • 6-12 months minimum experience in a conference production role
  • A confident team player who also works on their own initiative
  • Ability to conduct in-depth research via telephone
  • An appetite to constantly learn and develop their skills
  • Someone who enjoys talking to clients within a commercial and professional environment over the phone (including cold calling) and via email/LinkedIn
  • Ability to pick up knowledge of markets and adapt to different conferences
  • Someone who can work independently on the research and writing side, while also being sociable in order to network and persuade speakers to join the conference
  • Good copywriting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will be speaking with international business leaders
  • A quick thinker who is able to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Great project management skills
  • 2:1 or above at degree level preferred

Salary: £28k – £32k basic (negotiable depending on experience) + Bonus Scheme
Location: Remote working / City of London
Start: May 2021
