Compliance Officer

20 – 40 per hour (DOE and open to negotiation)

Based in Edinburgh – Can also be entirely remote

REED Business Support are pleased to be working with a charitable organisation who are looking to recruit a temporary Compliance Officer for a project that is currently ongoing. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the CEO and other members of staff with an end of year action plan and assessment of the organisation’s activities that will be submitted to the Government for funding.

The contract is expected to last until at least 30th April; however, it is likely to be extended beyond this. This role will serve a highly important function for the business so it is vital they get a candidate who is precise, confident, and inquisitive to support with this project.

The role is due to start ASAP and can support flexible and remote working.

Key responsibilities:

• Gaining an understanding of the organisation and consulting on what is required to allow for the successful completion of the Action Plan
• Making connections with various parties in the organisation to understand how they operate and translating this into qualitative data for the Action Plan
• Supporting the CEO with a project plan
• Writing content for the Action Plan in a way that aligns with government expectations
• Providing consultation and lessons learned on what can be done better when undertaking this project in future years

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience working in a role where a central feature is compliance and/or quality assurance
• Previous experience writing or contributing to action plans
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• An acute attention to detail
• The confidence and ability to make links with various stakeholders

Desirable:

• Experience dealing with compliance within the Construction sector
• Experience in the legal or public services sectors
