This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join the award-winning BD team of a leading international law firm, overseeing and delivering a comprehensive BD service to the IP and Data teams.

You will be part of an award winning Business Development team that is already well-established within the firm and which is respected by partners and other fee-earners for its high standards of service and the ideas and commitment it brings to business development activities. The role will sit within the firm’s BD, Marketing and Communications team and will assist the Senior BD Manager to formulate and deliver a business development and marketing strategy and prioritise activities that deliver revenue growth. The Business Development Manager will work closely with partners and other lawyers to drive profitable revenue growth, strengthen client relationships, and enhance the brand and profile of these practice areas. Operating with the support of a central team of executives and assistants, you will enjoy a broad role and will act as a trusted advisor to practice area leaders and the broader partner team, helping to draft and track business plans, advising on BD investment decisions and identifying new BD opportunities. You will be tasked with devising and implementing client plans and developing key accounts; managing and supporting the bids process; developing thought leadership campaigns; proactively commissioning and conducting market research and analysis; PR and hospitality; and proactively commissioning and conducting market research and analysis; and oversight of PR and digital media.

You will be able to demonstrate an outstanding track record of BD within a professional services environment. You will also have knowledge and experience of working within the real estate sector and a proven ability to conduct business analysis and develop strategic plans. The Business Development Manager must be able to work as part of a small, closely-knit team, and have experience of managing and motivating individuals. It is essential that you possess a real commercial instinct, excellent communication skills and an innate ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of an organisation.

The successful candidate will be a bright graduate or equivalent with substantial previous practical BD experience to include pitches, account management and thought leadership gained in the professional services sector, preferably in a legal firm. Proactive, enthusiastic and empathetic, the Business Development Manager will need a robust attention to detail, excellent communication skills and an innate ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of an organisation.
