Alternative Provision in Merton would like to recruit an exceptional 1:1 ASD and Complex Needs Behaviour Mentor to start immediately!
Long term and full-time position to start immediately! The successful SEN Teaching Assistant /HLTA/ Youth Worker/ Teaching Assistant has worked in a either a PRU/ Alternative Provision/ SEN School. You would be working with children on a 1:1 basis and within small groups. The new SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) will have experience with SEN pupils (ie SEMH / ASD/ ADHD/ Complex Needs / PDA/ ODD/ ADD etc) within either a Alternative Provision / PRU / SEN School or Mainstream School. You will be working with young people and children and getting them engaged in their education. Additionally de-escalating behaviour if this is required and to also build a strong rapport with them.
- YOU have great SEN experience with children (ie CAMHS/ SEMH / ADHD / ASD / PDA/ ODD/ ADD/ Complex Needs)
- YOUR most recent support role is as either an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)/ Teaching Assistant (TA)/ HLTA/ Behaviour Mentor / Learning Mentor/ Youth Worker
- YOUR most recent employer would have been in either a
- SEN School / Alternative Provision (PRU)/ Alternative Provision/ Youth Centre OR Mainstream School (primary or secondary)
- MUST have worked with children on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
- YOU are great at engaging young people and building a strong rapport with young people
- Must be in easily commutable distance to Merton
