Overview

The Education Network is currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to provide 1-2-1 and small group support at a local Alternative Provision that caters for children with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs. This role requires a Behaviour Mentor who enjoys breaking down barriers to education, is comfortable working with challenging behaviours, and can act as a positive role model for at risk students. The school has fantastic facilities, excellent leadership and an outstanding pastoral team who are committed to making a difference.

As a behaviour mentor you will be working on a 1-2-1 or small group basis in a class of no more than 8 students with challenging behaviours and/or SEMH needs. You will be working closely with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure that every student is given the support that they require. This school provides continues CPD and is looking for a Behaviour Mentor who can provide long-term support for students throughout the academic year.

Role:

  • Working on a 1-2-1 or small group basis
  • Help students to engage with lessons
  • Providing support to teaching staff when needed
  • Building rapport and trust with students
  • Leading on fun classroom activities

Ideally, you will:

  • Have experience working as a Behaviour Mentor or Teaching Assistant
  • Have worked with challenging behaviour and Special Needs
  • Be able to break down barriers to communication
  • Have a calm, patient and positive approach
  • Be able to challenge students when required
