Healthcare Assistant – Inpatient Unit

We are seeking compassionate Healthcare Assistants to support people receiving inpatient mental health care, helping individuals on their journey towards recovery and independence.

Salary: £27,617 per annum
Location: Norfolk
Hours: 39.38 hours per week, full-time
Contract: Permanent

About the Role

This is a rewarding opportunity to join a specialist inpatient mental health service supporting adults with a range of mental health and complex care needs. Working alongside experienced healthcare professionals, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care within a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the delivery of individual care plans under the direction of qualified nursing staff

  • Assisting individuals with personal care and daily living activities where required

  • Observing and monitoring physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing

  • Reporting and documenting any changes in a person’s presentation or behaviour

  • Providing therapeutic support and meaningful engagement activities

  • Escorting patients on leave and supporting community-based activities where appropriate

  • Assisting with de-escalation and positive behaviour support following training

  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent care

  • Maintaining ward cleanliness and adhering to infection prevention and control procedures

  • Supporting stock management and general ward operations

  • Providing a warm, welcoming, and professional experience for patients, visitors, relatives, and carers
