Main Responsibilities

Work at the heart of the BBC Group, providing vital sustainability advice and support and using your growing knowledge to help the organisation to collaboratively complex and urgent challenges.

Hone your skills by working on high-impact transformational projects and learning how to make meaningful, informed decisions.

Get coaching and mentoring from experts in their fields, solving problems collaboratively and focusing on the small details and the big picture.

Use systems thinking to help the BBC’s identify risks, dependencies, and systems to achieve our 2030 goals. working with our Sustainability team to drive our climate change and de-carbonisation programme through developing appropriate tools and processes

Study for your L7 Systems Thinking Postgraduate Degree, awarded by The University of Exeter. The apprenticeship qualification will be certified by the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education.

Are you the right candidate?

To be eligible for an apprenticeship, you must:
Be aged 18 or over when the course starts in September 2022

A 2:1 degree in Environmental Sciences or Environmental Management and Sustainability. Or a L4 Apprenticeship qualification in corporate responsibility and sustainability with 3 years of on-the-job experience.

Three A-Levels (CCC) in Maths, English, and a relevant subject.

Have Maths and English GCSEs or Standard Grades (Scotland) at 9-4 (A-C) or equivalent

Be legally allowed to work in the UK

Have lived in the UK, Ireland or the European Economic Area (EEA), for at least three years before the start of the apprenticeship. Or have either pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme and lived in the UK, EEA or Gibraltar for at least three years.

We’ll ask you to give examples to show you’re:
Interested in the environment and sustainability on a local, national and global scale as it applies to an organisations such as ours.

A natural problem solver

Practical and able to multi-task

Good at communicating with technical and non-technical people

Comfortable managing your own time

Happy to collaborate and adapt to changing situations.

Don’t worry if you don’t have an extensive CV. You can share examples of your passion for analytics from anywhere. That might be other work experience, your time in education, volunteering – even times you’ve helped your friends and family out with technical issues.

You shall develop your skills in solving some of our sustainability challenges delivering ideas and solutions under complexity, risk and uncertainty at the BBC while studying for your L7 Systems Thinking Postgraduate Degree with the University of Exeter.
